It’s called, “End Of 10” (endof10.org) and we’re bringing Linux to Windows 10 users! And other Windows users as well, because we know there are still people using Windows XP and other old versions.

Revitalize your old Windows computers

Did you know that Linux can revitalize old computers and keep them running for decades?

My 20-year old Dell Optiplex GX620. Mine’s been running Linux since it was given to me a few years ago, and is now on Fedora 42 which was released just this April. Yes — its slower than my newer computers, which are between 2 and 12 years old — but that’s only because it’s 2-core Pentium 4 processor and 4GB of memory is by it’s very nature slower than newer computers with more and faster CPUs and memory like my home-built system with 20 cores, 28 CPUs. and 32GB of RAM. But they’re both running at their designed speeds.

So long as you can replace the internal parts when they break, you can keep old computers running indefinitely.

Yes, it’s in my garage.

Were having a party

The local Linux users group here in the RTP area, the Triangle Linux Users Group, TriLUG, is having a party where you can learn how to get many more years out of your old Computers with Linux.

Christ Our Hope Church

Saturday Sep 20, 2025 12:00 PM to 5PM (17:00)
203 Capcom Ave, Suite 114
Wake Forest, NC 27587

We’ll start with a short program.

A brief Linux Introduction

What it is

What it isn’t

Short demo

How to try it without changing your system

How to get support

You’re encouraged to bring a laptop or thumb drive.
