That’s because two of our primary contributors are working on new books. Our other contributors have been busy as well.

You already know that I’m working on the 3rd Edition of “Using and Administering Linux”. The size of this project, with 3 large volumes, will keep me busy through much of the spring and into summer.

Jim Hall is working on his second book, which hasn’t yet been announced so we can’t yet share the title or many details. Generally, the new book will be about how we’ve used computers for writing. It starts with document preparation and progresses through generations of writing technology, including demonstrations and how to build your own versions of these tools. There’s something for everyone!

Jim’s first book, “Technical Writing for Developers: Utilizing HTML, JavaScript, Markdown, and GitHub for Writing,” was just published in January. If you haven’t bought a copy yet, you should! Part of the “Pocket Guide” series, Technical Writing for Developers is a how-to for using HTML and Markdown to write documentation. The book is aimed for developers, but it’s also a great read for technical writers, project managers, and content strategists.

Jim already has plans for new articles that he’ll be posting soon, once the new book is transmitted to the publisher. For myself, I’ll continue posting with a much slower pace than I normally do until I’ve submitted the last chapters of my books.

Another factor is that Both.org is a strictly volunteer site. No one is paid because we have no money. We don’t pay for or take money for posting articles. We don’t have advertisements that suck valuable space for real information. We don’t have a paywall that creates an elite group of users who pay for access to the prime articles.

All of our contributors have lives and most have jobs that pay them money. But we all enjoy writing for Both.org when we can.

We just want to let you know that we’re still here and we’re not in the throes of an Internet death where our site will stagnate and eventually become inaccessible when the DNS registration expires. We’ll continue to be here with fresh articles.

Thanks for visiting.

You may have noticed that we’ve not been posting as many articles recently as we have in the past.
