One of my interests is keeping up with the latest news and information about Linux and open source, and that led me to\u00a0Jupiter Broadcasting, an open-source (both in topics covered and its license) podcasting network.\u00a0I met\u00a0Jupiter\u2019s cofounder\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jupiterbroadcasting.com\/hosts\/chris\/\">Chris Fisher<\/a>\u00a0when I\u00a0visited\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/system76.com\/\">System76<\/a>\u00a0headquarters in 2018. Here are my go-to podcasts for Linux and open source news and discussion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Linux Unplugged<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I am a regular listener to<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jupiterbroadcasting.com\/show\/linux-unplugged\/\">&nbsp;Linux Unplugged<\/a>, billed as \u201cYour Weekly Linux Talk Show.\u201d Each week, Chris Fisher is joined by Brent Gervais and Wes Payne to discuss the latest developments in Linux and open source. I learned something new from every show, including great show notes with links to all topics covered in the shows. All the shows are released with Creative Commons share-alike licenses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Jupiter Broadcasting podcasts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jupiterbroadcasting.com\/\">Jupiter Broadcasting<\/a> has a family of shows, including\u00a0<strong>Coder Radio<\/strong>, a weekly show about software development.\u00a0The network also produces another of my favorite podcasts,\u00a0<strong>Self Hosted<\/strong>,\u00a0which features hosts Chris Fisher and\u00a0Alex Kretzschmar\u00a0as they share their experience with self-hosting and guide you through their latest adventures. In the show, they chat about innovative software and cutting-edge hardware to optimize your network, manage smart devices, and ensure the security of your data through cloud services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Late Night Linux<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/latenightlinux.com\/\">Late Night LInux<\/a>\u00a0is a family of shows started by producer Joe Ressington. The Late Night Linux family includes <strong>Late Night Linux<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>2.5 Admins<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Linux After Dark<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Linux Matters<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Linux Dev Time<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Hybrid Cloud<\/strong>,\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Ask the Hosts<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All the shows are great, and I started listening to <strong>Late Night Linux<\/strong> about five years ago.\u00a0I look forward each week to engaged conversations and rollicking good times with host Joe Ressington, joined by Sysadmin\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/fosstodon.org\/@felimwhiteley\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Felim<\/a>, \u00a0technical writer\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/fosstodon.org\/@degville\">Graham<\/a>,\u00a0and engineering manager <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whizzy.org\/aboutme\/\">Will<\/a> as they delve into the latest developments and releases in the world of free and open source software. They also tackle broader issues and trends with a candid approach. Expect colorful language, strong opinions, and ribbing aimed at F\u00e9lim over AI and the cloud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2.5 Admins<\/strong> has become another favorite since it debuted.\u00a0Each week features two sysadmins called\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.allanjude.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Allan Jude<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/jim-salter-linux\">Jim Salter<\/a>\u00a0and Joe Ressington, producer\/editor who can just about configure a Samba share.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Linux After Dark<\/strong> is another favorite. On each show, Sysadmin\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.podchaser.com\/creators\/chris-pearse-107to4n3xdnd\">Chris Pearse<\/a>, cloud consultant\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gary.thewilliams.ie\/\">Gary<\/a>, and developer\/admin\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/maydur.st\/about\/\">May<\/a>\u00a0join\u00a0Joe\u00a0to talk about their recent Linux-related experiences and discuss some of the more philosophical aspects of being a Linux user.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All the <strong>Late Night Linux<\/strong> family podcasts are released with Creative Commons share-alike licenses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Listen to Linux<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Immersing yourself in Linux and open-source podcasts is a fantastic way to stay updated, learn from experts, and connect with a passionate community.
