There are two items of interesting Linux news today.
Fedora 42
The first is that Fedora 42 will be officially released on Tuesday, April 15, which is tax day in the USA, so at least some of us will have a reason to be happy despite that.
New features will include a new web interface for the Anaconda installer; enhancements to DNF5 that provides better key management; the newest version of Ruby; tools to manage Python packaging; and a new Cosmic desktop from System76, the Colorado hardware company that preloads POP_os! Linux; and more. KDE Plasma will enjoy promotion to full-fledged edition of it’s own rather than a spin.
I’ll be installing Fedora 42 on most of my systems on the 15th.
systemd book
My newest book, “systemd for the SysAdmin — All You Need to Know About The systemd Suite for Linux Users,” is now in typesetting and we’re on schedule for a late June release.
