Welcome, “We (heart) Open Source”
We ❤️ Open Source is “A community education resource.” A recent article at FOSS Force, “‘All Things Open’ Revives the OpenSource.com Community Abandoned by Red Hat,” states, “The All Things Open organization is picking up the baton abandoned by Red Hat when it quit publishing OpenSource.com.“
The All Things Open (ATO) organization produces an annual conference called, fittingly enough, “All Things Open,” held each year in Raleigh North Carolina, USA. This is an amazing conference that I’ve attended almost every year since 2013 — COVID years excepted although they did have virtual conferences then.
We at Both.org are happy to have an organization like All Things Open, that’s recognized world-wide as a powerful, positive force for open source, as a new home for those of us who wrote for Opensource.com — OSDC as we called it. We loved the community that OSDC provided and look forward to a renewal of those community connections with “We ❤️ Open Source” as our new hub.
At the same time, Both.org is not going away. We intend to continue publishing a stream of open source related articles as we have for nearly a year, now. We look forward to our first anniversary in December, as an opportunity for authors to publish open source articles on a non-commercial site. You’ll see many authors writing for both sites, and our core group of contributors has already done so.
I find it exciting that there is enough interest in open source to support multiple sites dedicated to all things open.
